Where to get it
The repository holds the app, the vendored Stockfish sources and the build instructions. Every App Store release is tagged, so you can check out exactly the source of the version you have. The version is shown on the app’s About screen.

- The app’s own code, licensed under GPLv3.
- Stockfish 19, with the one file changed for iOS marked in place and described in the repository’s NOTICE file.
- The cburnett chess pieces and the Lichess chess-openings data, with their licences.
Stockfish’s neural network is too large to keep in the repository. The build instructions download it from the Stockfish project and give its checksum.
