Movie Release Radar
Every release date, country by country.
Release dates are not one date. A film opens in the US in March, in the Netherlands in May, and somewhere else the following autumn — and almost every site shows you only the American one. Movie Release Radar keeps a theatrical calendar for 37 countries, so the dates you see are the dates for where you actually live. It rebuilds itself from scratch every night.
What it does
A calendar, not a list
Browse a month at a time in a real grid, or flip to a list view. Filter by country, genre and rating, or search a title outright.
Local dates, not US dates
Thirty-seven countries each get their own calendar of confirmed theatrical dates, checked and rewritten every night.
Most anticipated, by month
A top ten for every month, ranked by a popularity score that is smoothed over a fortnight of nightly snapshots so a single day of buzz cannot distort it.
A page per film
Date, score, runtime, language, genres, director, cast and synopsis — plus how many countries have it on the calendar.
A watchlist that stays put
Save the films you care about. It lives in your browser — no account, nothing to sign up for.
No backend at all
A scheduled job pulls fresh data and regenerates every page as static HTML. Nothing to run, nothing to pay for, nothing to fall over.

How it's built
- Stack
- A Node script that writes plain HTML. No framework, no database, no server.
- Data
- TMDB, fetched nightly and cached as JSON in the repository alongside the pages.
- Schedule
- A GitHub Action runs at 03:00 UTC, regenerates the site and commits the result.
- Hosting
- Static pages on a custom domain, served straight from the repository.
